What happened to all the collective intelligence and prudence of the left?
What happened to the ideologies of the left?
What happened to common minimum programme?
What happened to all the promises you made to the people?
Whatever happened to basic common sense Mr. Karat? Not that I am champion of the Indo-US Nuclear deal nor am I a fan of the Finance Minister’s economic policies, but then Comrade, in your haste, you have plunged the nation into crisis, where the threats may not be just economic. I fear, a far greater threat from people who shouldn’t be close to power, now sniffing their chances in the corridors of power.
At a time when inflation is burning a deep hole in the pockets of the aam aadmi, was it important to sort out who had a larger ego? At a time when it is becoming difficult for the middle class to buy homes, was it important to debate if the Prime Minister was right in announcing the time to go to the IAEA? Comrade, we are headed for an economic crisis, people are being laid off, increments have be pathetic at best, and here, your fellow comrades are vehemently debating on who started the crisis.
The writing on wall is clear (and I think I am seeing it in RED) There is clear divide between your idea of India the real India; much like the divide between a father and son. Your ideologies will never meet with that of the youth of today. Your resistance to change, your cautious approach to reforms, your over protective labour policy, your pessimism to anything American, are all so very anti-youth. Perhaps, ironically, you must have wanted to join the red brigade for similar reasons. To bring about equality, to bring in change, to bring in progressive labour laws, to create an identity of our own. And today you appear to us as a bunch who believes in doing and sounding just the opposite.
Let’s hope and pray, such opportunities don’t come by too often and our unscrupulous politicians are made to earn the mandate of the people before they enter the corridors of power.
